Sioux Falls’ Roxi & Co Makes History as South Dakota’s First International BBB Torch Award Winner

Locally owned pet retailer and service provider earns regional and international honors for ethical business practices, joining just four businesses recognized across North America in 2026.

Roxi & Co, a locally owned pet supply retailer and dog waste removal service based in Sioux Falls, has made South Dakota history by becoming the first business in the state to receive the Better Business Bureau’s prestigious International Torch Award for Ethics.

The recognition follows Roxi & Co’s selection as a 2026 BBB Midwest Plains regional Torch Award for Ethics winner, an honor that qualified the company to compete for international recognition.

Of the more than 130 businesses that applied for the 2026 International Torch Awards, only four were selected across North America, with one recipient in each of four employee-size categories. Roxi & Co was named the winner in the 11–99 employee category.

Established in 1996, the International Torch Awards recognize businesses that demonstrate an exceptional commitment to ethical practices, organizational integrity, and building trust in the marketplace. Roxi & Co is the first South Dakota business to receive the honor in the award’s 30-year history.

A Recognition Rooted in Personal Values

For Roxi & Co owner and president Telly Rollinger, the recognition carries a particularly personal meaning.

The business is named in honor of his late mother, Roxi, who passed away from breast cancer in 2014. Her influence, particularly her belief in doing what is right even when it is difficult or inconvenient, helped shape the values upon which the company operates today.

“This recognition means more to me than I can adequately put into words,” said Rollinger. “Our company is named in honor of my mom, Roxi, who taught me that doing the right thing matters, even when it isn’t the easiest or most convenient choice. Those lessons have shaped the way we’ve tried to build this business. To see our team recognized on an international level for living those values is incredibly meaningful.”

Rollinger founded the company’s dog waste removal business in 2009 and expanded into pet retail with the acquisition of Your Pet Stop in 2020. The businesses were brought together under the Roxi & Co name in 2023, reflecting a shared commitment to exceptional customer service, responsible business practices, and community involvement.

Today, Roxi & Co operates a pet supply store at 501 E. 41st Street in Sioux Falls, offers local pet food and supply delivery, and provides residential and commercial dog waste removal services throughout the Sioux Falls area.

Recognizing a Culture of Trust and Integrity

In selecting Roxi & Co for the International Torch Award, judges highlighted the company’s commitment to empowering employees to make ethical decisions without unnecessary layers of approval.

Judges also recognized a workplace culture in which employees are encouraged to contribute ideas, receive coaching and support, and grow into leadership roles.

Roxi & Co was formally recognized at the International Association of Better Business Bureaus’ Trust Summit in Denver, Colorado, in September 2026.
